Delete Your Data
You can delete your Birdies & Bets account and everything stored with it at any time. The quickest way is in the app. If you no longer have the app or can't sign in, email us and we'll do it for you.
In the app
Open Profile → Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm too. Your account is deleted straight away.
Only want some rounds gone? Open the round in your history and delete just that one.
By email
Email us from the address you sign in with, so we can tell the account is yours. If you use Sign in with Apple with a hidden email, tell us your Apple relay address (it ends in privaterelay.appleid.com, and your iPhone shows it in your Apple Account settings under Sign in with Apple).
Or write to hello@birdiesandbets.com with the subject “Delete my account”. We reply to confirm we have your request, and again when it's done, within 30 days and usually much sooner. If we can't match the email to an account, we'll ask you to delete it in the app or write from the right address; we never ask for a password.
If you never made an account
Then nothing of yours is on our servers: your rounds live only on your phone. Delete the app, or use Settings → Your data → Clear all data. Backup files you saved are yours to delete wherever you keep them.
What gets deleted
- Your account: your email address, your name and any link to your Apple ID.
- Every round, player, group, course and setting synced to your account.
- The records of your sign-ins that our database provider keeps for security (when you signed in and from which IP address).
- The app's access to your Apple ID, if you used Sign in with Apple and delete in the app. When we delete by email, you can remove it yourself under Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account settings.
- The copy on your phone, when you delete in the app.
Copies in our database provider's routine backups are overwritten as those backups expire.
What we don't hold, or delete anyway
- Crash reports and usage counts aren't linked to you, so we can't find yours. Crash reports are deleted automatically within 90 days.
- Shared scorecards were never stored by us: a card lives only inside its link, in the messages where it was shared.
- Launch-news emails stop with the unsubscribe link in any of them. Ask, and we'll remove your address from the list too.
- Emails you send us are deleted once we've dealt with them.
If someone else added you
If a friend added you, or your child, as a player in their rounds, your name and handicap are stored in their account, not in one of your own. Email us with the name used and roughly when you played, and we'll have those details removed.
